Blue and White Block Print

Sunnies: Charlotte Russe, Blouse (Gap): Goodwill, Wrap Skirt (originally my Grandmother’s): Orvis, Heels: ALDOI really love the mix of prints on this skirt. You wouldn’t think the jumble of patterns would work together but the textures make it work. Besides I’ve always thought jumbled prints were prettiest when worn with coral suede  Then again what isn’t prettier with coral suede?

what pretty pairings are you perfecting?

Light Layers & Florals

Knit: Cape Cod Consignment Shop, Floral Dress (as top): H&M, Wrap Skirt: Shalom Shuk, Peeptoes: TJ Maxx, Ring: Forever 21I wear this dress as a top more than I wear it as a dress. It’s lightweight (i.e. perfect for layering) and short enough to wear under skirts and other dresses. The floral print really popped against the purple skirt and colorful knit. I liked the cut of this classic $1 wrap skirt and the peeptoes added a  feminine polish that had me sashaying on the way to work.

what feminine touches have you been adding to your fall looks?

Red Robin

Sunglasses: Dollar Store, Sweater: Gifted, Belt: via Quarter Life Vintage Necklace: Zinnia, Ring: ?, Wrap Skirt: Vintage (originally my mom’s) Tights: Target, Ankle Boots: Old Navy (via Plato’s Closet)My parents and younger sister came to visit last weekend and my mom brought me this wool wrap skirt. My mom started to set aside classic pieces like her camel blazer, silk blouse and this wrap skirt when my sister and I were young and the winds of fashion started to shift.

The good thing about fashion is that trends tend to be cyclical so I’m able to wear the same pieces my mom wore during her late twenties. At first I was worried that the length and thicker material of the skirt would make me look matronly but once I had it on I quickly realized that it when sitting or walking the skirt moves in such a way that it creates a high slit, making me love it even more (especially since high slits are one of fall’s hottest trends).

What pieces from your wardrobe would you like to save/pass on?

Very Vintage

Sunnies: Greece, Faux Fur Scarf: Gifted, Blazer: Originally my mom’s, Sweater: Forever 21, Suede Wrap Skirt: Synagogue Thrift/Charity Shop, Tights: The Sox Market, Boots: Mia Via 6pmIt feels so bizarre being able to see grass in January, this time last year I was frantically calling D to dig me out of my house (there was a 6 foot snow drift pressing against my kitchen door when I got up to go to work, it wasn’t pretty.)

My friend Carolyn introduced me to a wonderful thrift store behind a local synagogue and it’s less than a 10 minute walk from my house! I’ve had some serious luck there and almost died of jealousy when Caro found a gorgeous wool cape with fur trim, that of course looks perfect on her.

While I’m still jealous of Caro’s cape I’ve had some luck of my own at this gem of a thrift store. I scored this purple suede wrap skirt for a dollar! I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw it nestled between a pair of pajama jeans and a flannel bathrobe on the dollar rack! I guess it’s just more proof that one lady’s cast offs are this lady’s treasures. Bottom line, it was a dollar well spent and I’m having a lot of fun styling my new skirt.

What recent fashion finds have your heart all a flutter?
