My Weekend in Snapshots

How Gus dealt with the sub-zero tempsOne of my favorite hats and lots of layersAfternoon amarettos, to keep away the chillThe large and in charge cocktail ring I picked up at Micheal’s for $2For a late Sunday lunch with D’s parents I made saffron rice and fish veracruz

Over the weekend temperatures in Burlington dipped to negative 15 with the wind chill making the idea spending the weekend at home under the covers all the more appealing. For the most part we stayed indoors and caught up on laundry and lounge time* but on Sunday we had D’s parents over for a late lunch. It was fun to have the opportunity to cook for them since they host D and I at their house all the time. I made fish veracruz (I used cod but you can use any light white fish) it’s a really fresh and flavorful dish with a touch of heat that makes it perfect for chilly days.

*Oh and to the ladies who used to live downstairs we miss you, hope you’re both doing well and wanted to let you know that your Sunday subscription to the Times is being well looked after.

How was your weekend?

My Weekend in Snapshots

Still figuring out what to wear with my new patterned tightsAm I the only one who anticipated ‘Glitter Mallows’ being delicious marshmallows covered in edible bling?Inspired by my outfit D and I sipped Black & Tan’s Friday night. On our Saturday morning coffee run we spotted some holiday wildlife on Church street (there were also mini horse pulled cart rides, we declined)Love how well the red bow waist belt defines the silhouetteHoliday cookies my friend Nicole and I made Sunday afternoon, can you tell D helped decorate?

Still no word on when the computer will be fixed so I’m not sure when I’ll be back to my regular posting habits but stick around because this week I’m guest posting on  some great blogs, whipping up holiday inspired DIY projects for your home and wardrobe, and as always I’ve got an outfit post or two up my sleeve.

My Weekend in Snapshots

I love my giveaway gifts from Quarter Life Vintage!Friday night Gus and I were asleep on the couch by 10:30pmShowing off my “big apple red” mani Saturday morningD put way to much soap in our Euro washing machine Friends-giving carnage; 2 turkey’s, countless sides and too many deserts Finally used our juicer! Post Friends-giving detox, grapefruit and mint juice and… we bought out very first Christmas tree!

Oh and my computer crashed… but I didn’t have a fun snapshot for that. Please bear with me as I try and recover my files and fix my computer. Luckily I’d recently backed up most of the files and photos on my hard drive but there will always be things that slip through the cracks… like the vacation photos D and I took this summer.

You never know where inspiration will strike. While D was searching for the perfect nymph fly I was doing some browsing of my own. Here are some of my favorites for this season.

What inspired you this weekend?
