One of the best parts about living in Downtown Burlington is the walkability. I’m lucky in that I’m able to walk to work, however that means most days (especially during the winter) I’m carrying a change of shoes in my bag. As much as I’m a slave to fashion I’m even more of a realist and platforms just aren’t practical, especially in Burlington. Besides I love these heels way too much to subject them to the salt, muck, and grey snow matter that’s currently covering the sidewalks. I leave that to my trusty Old Navy boots, the more wear and tear they endure the better they look.
Does your commute affect your wardrobe? Are you fashion focused or rooted in reality?

Sunnies: Gifted, Sweater & Earrings: H&M, Skirt: Talbots (via Goodwill), Tights: TJ Maxx, Bracelet: Gifted, Booties: BambooLook familiar? This is a re-imagination of one of my “go-to” looks; black tights, my black H&M Sweater, a skirt and a pair of heels (seen here, here & here).
A “go-to” look should be something that you can throw on without thinking about it, makes you feel confident and can easily be tweaked to work for a variety of situations. My “go-to” looks is simple, easy to dress up and down and can be worn everywhere from work to dinner and drinks. It wasn’t until I went to post these photos that I realized just how often I wear a variation this look.
My “go-to” getup has served me well and is perfect for
Mondays those mornings when I wake up late and hate everything I put on.
What’s your “go-to” look?

Bet you didn’t know I had an afro!
I’ve got good news and I’ve got bad news but since I have more good news than bad news you’re getting the bad first…
I broke my camera. D and I climbed Mt. Mansfield this past weekend and within the first 10 minutes of our grand hiking adventure I dropped my camera and it died.
Now the good news…
I’m finally going to buy the brand spanking new camera that I’ve been lusting after for months! While I’m sad that my 5 year old point and shoot camera is dead I now have a legitimate excuse to buy myself a nice new camera! And…
Downtown Threads is expanding! I stopped in to check out their new space and James, the owner, graciously offered to snap these pictures of me. While I was there I got to explore their new space and peruse the ah-mazing pieces they’ve been able to put out now that they have more space. They’ve seriously stocked up on accessories; like the vintage yellow Talbots bag that James let me pose with above… I’m a little bit in love with it.
