Vintage Trench Coat: D’s Mom, Knit: Shalaom Shuk, Top: Forever 21, Tiger Eye Necklace: Zinnia, Vintage Wool Skirt: Downtown Threads, Tights: Target, Steve Madden Cowboy Boots (similar)
Yesterday’s spring like temps were the perfect excuse to break out this classic trench . It was made by D’s grandmother for D’s mother over 20 years ago and couldn’t be more beautiful. I love that it’s as on trend today as it was when it was originally made and I already know I’ll be wearing it for years to come.
Luckily I like how it looks with these boots because fingers crossed I’ll have these boots forever. I bought them right before I headed off to college and after years of near constant wear I finally had them resoled last winter. The cobbler was appalled at the condition they were in when I dropped them off, he literally chided me; but in the end he was able to work his shoe magic and after a complete resoling and new heels they’re better than new.
what pieces do you hope to be wearing for years to come?
Wow what a gem that trench is! I love the skirt too! Isn’t it great how timeless some pieces can be?
You’re so right Robin. I also love that D’s mom was wearing it when she was my age, pieces with good history are so special.
love the coat! xO!

You’re workin’ that skirt! Where were these pictures taken?
You’re always workin it Jimmy! I took these at Chace Mill, right before you cross the bridge into Winooski.
You have such amazing vintage pieces. That coat is beautiful!

I’m pretty lucky Meredith, some of the best vintage pieces I own were hand me downs from friends & family!
aaaah i love the plaid skirt! they are the best!
thanks Tallia, this skirt was a great find at Downtown Threads a few years ago.
I really love that trench. I just purchased a couple of faux fur coats that I’m hoping will last me a very long time!
Ooh Laura I can’t wait to see how you style those coats!
I hope I’ll always have this coat: https://colormebrazen.wordpress.com/2013/01/09/im-going-to-look-like-estelle-costanza-in-my-old-age/
Haha Skye, the title of your post cracks me up! More importantly though that coat is kick ass.
I absolutely love this outfit and you wear it so well. The boots are lovely. I am not really an investment piece buyer, I am desperately trying to change that currently, so not got many things I will be wearing for years to come. However I do have a suede jacket I bought 10 years ago which is still going strong and has a big fur collar meaning it is very in right now 🙂
I found your blog through a comment you made on ForeverAmber (she is my favourite blogger) and I am loving your blog too. I am now following and looking forward to seeing more outfits and reading more about you 🙂

Janie, I am so glad you found Wore Out. Isn’t Amber stunning?! I love her blog(s) and am always inspired by her style. I think your suede jacket sounds like quite the find, especially if it’s lasted you this long!
