Mullets and Democrats

Sunnies: Charlotte Russe, Tank: Old Navy, Skirt & Shoes: TJ Maxx, Bracelet: GiftedI’m not one to get political but the headquarters of the Burlington Democratic Party proved to be the perfect backdrop for this quick round of outfit photos. These Guess peep-toe pumps are beyond comfortable and add the perfect touch of Oxford snobbery to my floral mullet skirt.

Simple separates (like the ones I’m wearing above) and lightweight sundresses have solidified their spots as summer wardrobe staples. They are as comfortable as they are versatile making it easy to go from casual drinks with friends to a downtown dinner date with D, and if they can stand up to an occasional unplanned dip in the lake they’re worth their weight in gold.

What are your summer wardrobe staples?

  1. I see no snobbery in your outfit whatsoever. Your outfit looks amazing, so airy and free. I need to get into more lightweight fabrics.

    • Aimee, lightweight separates are saving my life! They are easy to layer for the freezing AC at the office and light enough to keep me cool in the 90 degree weather we’re having. Let’s play soon I miss you!

  2. LOVE the mullet skirt with those great shoes. Fabulous look on you!

  3. Love that skirt…definitely perfect for the heat!! Those shoes are fabulous!!

    • I can’t stand anything but skirts and dresses in the summer heat! These shoes are one of my favorite pairs becuase they are so comfortable and have the cutest details!
